ORLANDO, Fla. (Men’s Basketball) – A total of 476 student-athletes from the nine Sunshine State Conference schools were named to the SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2008 semester, announced Monday by Commissioner Michael J. Marcil. Forty-six of those are Florida Tech Panthers and sixty-nine of the nearly 500 students carried a perfect 4.00 GPA for the semester.

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Men’s Basketball) – For the third time in head coach Billy Mims’ tenure, a Florida Tech men’s basketball player has signed a contract to extend his career as a professional. Carl McNally will be playing for the Milton Keynes Lions in the BBL (British Basketball League), the highest level of professional basketball played in Great Britain and the current National Cup Champions and runners-up in the BBL Finals last May. He’ll be playing for last year’s BBL Coach of the Year, Vince Macaulay Razaq.

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Baseball) – A pair of Florida Tech rising seniors have been standouts for their teams in respective summer baseball leagues. For the second time this summer, Jake Koch has been tabbed the Florida Collegiate Summer League’s Pitcher of the Week for the Leesburg Lightning after picking up his second win of the season, while Mike Piazza was named the Mustang of the Week by the Martinsville Bulletin.
